ZETA TAU ALPHA
Zeta Tau Alpha is a national women’s fraternity that aims to intensify friendship, foster a spirit of love, and build a purer and nobler womanhood in the world. During my time at the Theta Tau Chapter of ZTA at UNC-CH I took on numerous leadership roles where I was able to strengthen my skills as a leader, communicator and story teller, as well as foster connections throughout the chapter. These roles included Chapter Videographer, Recruitment Assistant in charge of Promotional Materials, and Vice President III: Recruitment and Membership Chair. After my role as VP III concluded, I worked with my successor, Kaylynn Eichhorn, to create the 2024 recruitment videos.
VP III
During my time as VP III, I was tasked with creating a team of women to help me accomplish my goal: leading the Theta Tau chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha through Primary Recruitment (AKA Sorority Rush) and getting the best damn pledge class (BDPC) on UNC’s Campus. Ultimately I chose 11 women in the chapter to help me achieve those goals.
After over six months of planning and hard work it was time for Primary Recruitment. The five-day, four-round, mutual selection process allows each of UNC’s 10 Panhellenic Sororities to meet each of the 850+ Potential New Members (PNMs), and each PNM to meet each chapter. Each round allows the two parties to get to know each other better and narrow down their options, until each PNM gets to run home on bid day to their new sorority.
Even though this position was truly one of the most exhausting experiences of my life, and came with numerous challenges, it was also the most rewarding experience of my life. As the rounds went on, I loved seeing who continually wanted to come back to ZTA, and when those 66 young women ran home to ZTA on Bid Day, the largest group in Theta Tau’s history, all I could do was smile and watch how at home they already felt with their new sisters.

Videographer and Recruitment Assistant
As Chapter Videographer and a Recruitment Assistant in charge of Promotional Materials, I attended numerous chapter events, and planned video shoots to film using my IPhone and Canon cameras and ultimately create fun videos for ZTA’s various social media platforms. I also created a “Guide to Recruitment” work book for chapter members, so all importnat information was in one easy-to-find place.
